10 Good And Not So Good Moments of 2008

2008 was an interesting and very significant year, and it’s important that we are able to look back at what made the year memorable so that we can look forward to 2009. This list contains 5 GOOD moments, and 5 not so GOOD moments.
GOOD Moments
5.) The View

I know this show is for women, starring women. However this year it was one of the best shows on any line up. You had some of the most intense debates, and feelings where hurt, supposedly. I really think it’s because of Whoopi and the secret beef between her and the skinny blonde lady…
4.) Lil Wayne Goes Platinum In Week In The Midst Of Low Album Sales

I am not really a fan of his and I think there too many people sucking his dick on the Net, but I won’t deny is talent or his domination of 2008. I think it’s honourable to mention his extraordinary album sales in a time where album purchases were at an all time low.
3.) Heart Of The City Tour With Mary and Jay

If you weren’t able to attend this legendary concert, then am sorry, because it was something that will not be easily forgotten for the people that experienced it. It wasn’t necessary the performances that made it memorable but the real match of the best of both worlds..(R-Kelly WHOOO?!)
2.) The Dark Knight

Dark Knight is being considered the best super hero movie of all time, but thats not what got it on this list. This movie made a whooping 996.8 million dollars worldwide making it one the top grossing movies of all time second only to Titanic. Unfortunately it came at a sacrifice of a great actor (to me at least) Heath ledger.
1.) Barack Obama

Though this is a list of 10, Barack is the 1 moment that will be written in history books for new generations to read. This is the year when the first black man became the President of the United States. This is a moment that people have been dreaming and trying to reach for. Martin Luther, Malcolm X, Marcus Garvy, and many more..have fought for this resulting moment.
Not So GOOD Moments
5.) Rick Ross Exposed

Oh Boy, so the supposed Miami drug kingpin turned out to be a former CO. This is was probably the funniest thing to happen in 2008 for me. This was not good for Rick though, because there will never be a comeback for him, and I stand behind that. If you try to make a career of something you’re not, how can you ever regain that career…sorry Rick.
4.) Suge Knight Knocked Out

This was another comedic moment. Suge, the scariest dude in Hip Hop, was knocked out by a neighbourhood Barbour. This was not just some sucker punch, Mr. Knight was knocked the F@#$ out. The worse thing is that someone with a great quality camera was around to take great pictures of him on the floor and being carried to a car.
3.) Young Buck Cries

When Young Buck was caught crying it wasn’t a good look for him. This is a guy, along with G-Unit, who built his career around tough talk, and thug mannerisms, but when 50 Cents taped him pleading for his job back, we saw another softer side to the infamous young buck.
2.) The World Is Taken Over By Auto-Tone

I understand Akon and T-Pain using Autotone because that is the unique factor that they bring to the music industry, but when everybody started to pick up on this, it gave me a serious headache. Granted I did like some of 808’s and Heartbreak, but it has gotten so bad that Reggae artists are using the Auto-Tone…we need to see the end of this in 2009.
1.) DJ Khaled And His Super Remixes

Another person I don’t want to hear from or about in 2009 is DJ Khaled. I am done with “We Da Best”..it’s really annoying. He reminds me of the dude from that A&E show about the Car Dealership…This goes along with his or anybody else’s super remixes, make the song great first then maybe add a few people, we don’t need the whole record industry on one song.

I co-sign the comment on DJ Khaled. That’s a dude I don’t want to hear from ever again. Young Buck cried for real? Man what’s with him and Ross going on like they’re hard but really we find out that they are soft like porridge…
Props to President Barack Obama for doing it big and for ushering in the new year with hopes of change for the better. Looking forward to see how America is going to be changed.
