If you have been watching CNN or any political news channel you would have noticed the new Republican Party. Many are used to the typical right wing republican; that middle to senior-aged white man from Utah, but apparently things have changed. The RNC leaders  have realized that minorities don’t relate to their party so they have injected themselves with minorities from all over.

The new party leader is a black man by the name of Michael Steele and he has plans to shake up the Republican Party and add a little pizazz to it. There is also a lot of other minority members speaking out such as Bobby Jindal , the mayor of Louisiana, who is vowing not take to any Stimulus money from Obama.

This is clearly the Republican’s answer to the success of Obama’s campaign, but lightning doesn’t strike twice. The attractive quality about the Democrats is that, when they speak you feel a sense of liberalism and openness to change, but when Republicans try to perform the same technique it seems openly fake and offensive. When you here Michael Steele talk, it feels that he was manufactured to be hip and new.

Some might say that I am being too cynical, but I ask, would we really have a Michael Steele if Obama didn’t win the Presidential Campaign? The RNC attempted the same strategy with Sarah Palin, a publicity stunt to simply get votes.

To answer your question no they would not. I think mainstream America feels that most african americans believe people who look like us. Not the case. He’s a busta.

I think these Republicans must think that us African Americans are like sheeps who follow any African American in a position of power. If that is how they think then they are soo wrong. We followed Obama not because he was African American but because of what he represented. It’s clear that this Steele guy is just a puppet face of the Republicans to sway over minorities onto their side. I mean look at him, he trys so hard to be like Obama. His whole swagger seems fabricated.
