Well the buzz for Drake is no secret, through his mini North American tour he was able to sell out venues and have fans screaming and singing all his lyrics to his successful ‘So Far Gone’ Mixtape. I’m fan of Drake myself, and I personally believe that he is very talented and he gets an extra 10 points for being from Toronto.

The question is, though he has huge of cult following, will it translate to a successful release? The latest news is that he is in final negotiations with Universal Motown, so it’s very likely that we will see a debut album shortly.

My bet is on strong platinum release, he is under the wing of an artist who sold successfully while more established artists couldn’t. The alternative view is that we might be overshooting his support and he might actually do poorly in sales.

Either way, I’m interested to see the results and what this does to Toronto.
