Well the reason, I compare to the Iphone is because, LG isss trying to compete with it….its obvious, because a large portion of their new line is Touch screen…
You can not really compare Palm Devices which were heavily reliant on stylus pens, to the new touch screen devices that use touch sensitivy to operate (made popular by the iphone..hmm)…
Your right it is being marketed as a camera phone (even though you can add music, with an expandable memory up to 2gigs)..the interface and the operation is very similar to the iphone…

the Viewty is NOT a smartphone, it is a camera phone. Why is it that any touchscreen phone that is released, it is immediately compared against the iphone? The Touchscreen market was opened WAY before the iphone came along thanks to Palm devices, did anyone say the iphone was “copying” the touchscreen concept from them?
The KE990 is also a re-release of the Viewty name, to a more global market (still triband, but its being released under the standard 900/1800/1900, as well as 850/1800/1900 for the north american market). the original KU990 was released in 2007, and was a 3G phone designed for the European market. If you want to make a closer comparison of phones, think of it as a competitor to the Sony K850i.
take some time to read up the overview/review of the iphone, and the KU990 at GSMArena.com, you will see a completely different emphasis in their review.
