Just in case people wanted a list of the best rappers in the game. MTV took the luxury of making one.

I Have no clue why the hell this guy is on the list. His best album was Get Rich Or Die Trying after that he became pretty irrelevant.
Fabolous
This dude was hard at work. He released his album Loso’s Way and the short movie of the same name this year. Just when everyone thought Loso had perished he came back with a vengeance.
Young Jeezy
I don’t know whens the last time Jeezy released a single….Do you?
Gucci Mane
Gucci Mane is a horrible rapper…enough said
Rick Ross
Deeper Then Rap was a very good album in my eyes. Ricky owes his career to John Legend right now. I do like the way Ross is taking his music though the sound is very easy to listen to.
Kanye West
Once you get over the fact that Kanye is a jackass at times nothing surprises you. 808′s and Heartbreak was a crazy album. Not only was he singing most of the time but then Jay Z came along and killed auto-tune HAHA. Very convenient
Drake
If there were an explanation to what Drake has done to the Hip Hop Game this summer I would give one. I can’t find the words to explain total take-over or invasion. “Well at least you got to witness…..Bitches”
Lil Wayne
I have a Love-Hate with this guy but one thing is for sure. Now that he has Drizzy Drake on his team Wezzy will be around for a long time.
Jay-Z

I appreciate good southern rap. But these last few years have had a lot of great producers carrying some very very very bad rappers. (gucci,maino,rosoe,souljah,wocka) Does the music get you amped or the rapping. Be honest. Wocka even said he dont care about being a good rapper.

Said,Wayne has about one good verse per song. Mixtapes and collabos are where he shines. Wayne’s style is where he always shows growth.
Drakes choppy ramble is taking over the game. His simplistic version of one of waynes flows is the new universal cadence of hip hop.
Jay-z needs to top showing his age style-wise. But he is still the best, most complete rapper. Not recognizing this is like being tone deaf.
Rick Ross is making good music in spite of himself.(southern biggie/Correctional officer/law suits from the real RICK ROSS).
Loso gotta stop being “JAY-Z JR.” And take the game from Drake and Weezy.
Kanye is like wayne in that he’s an imperfect lyricist, always just missing the mark. But also like wayne, he has a style that some people just like anyway.
Gucci mane is a part of this almost talentless trend of “rappers” (maino, soulja boy, wocka flocka, roscoe dash, etc) that have good producers behind them.
Jeezy’s a good journeyman rapper. Not great, but not bad either.

Well put, my man. I’d have to agree with you on the following: 50 Cent should not have been on the list, Jeezy’s been pretty dormant recently (minus his BP3 feature), and Gucci Mane is TERRIBLE and should not even be considered an artist. I’m not a huge fan of Ricky Ross but I don’t dislike him either.
I definitely agree with the top 4 as well. Nobody has out-shined ‘Ye, Drake, Weezy or Jigga in the time period of 2008-09.
