Same reaction I got….I don’t know why good artists drop some good ish then go ahead and do garbage tracks after…they need to be consistent and not just for their albums…

i’M WITH YOU ON (sorry) that Johnny G. I feel it’s out of fear. They see these new “artists” …and I use that term loosely…..all over the tv, radio, you tube and their songs stay in heavy rotation. Ususally when they are garbage and catchy, so I think the OGs in the game feel threatened by the change of style and begin to compromise themselves. As with all areas of life. Like the lion in the jungle, when he sees a possible threat he will do what he feels necessary to protect what HE feels belongs to him. When in reality, none of it belongs to any of us. It’s all energy being transferred. There is no favor in the Universe. You receive what you give. You cant make a withdrawl without first making a deposit. Basic mathmatics.

Finally…I have the chance to comment now.
Yeah so ST I hear what you are saying. But these “OGs” need to realize that they built a brand image for themselves that fans have been associating with them for a long time. It’s hard to switch the brand image of a commodity. I mean Tommy Hilfiger can’t get into the sneaker game like how Nike, Adidas & Reebok do it. It’s a brand perception.I just think that these “OGs” need to be themselves and do what they do best. Because once they start going away from that is when they start to lose fans. And if there is a need to conform to the changing cycle of the music industry, then they need some heavy marketing and serious gimmicks. Kanye is one of the few people that I know is versatile. So In short I guess what I’m saying is that I agree with you. And I find it very serious as real music lovers are losing their favorite good artists to some really garbage “artists” who are being played on the radio and net waves now because they feel as if they need to conform to keep themselves in the game.

Mornin! Exactly. To me it would be like OGC comin back spittin bout chicks in the club they wanna bang or making a “dance friendly” joint. I would be so disgusted with them. It does bother me that when the “artists” who have been around DON’T switch up their steez they get pushed to the back of the line. The original fan base is still there wanting the core of what brought them on board off the muscle. I do understand that all living things must grow and develop and evolve and I love that, however, when you stray from the origianl formula it’s like treason.OK. On a different level. Take a relationship. The wonderful, positive, maybe freaky things your significant other was doing in the beginning of the relationship they no longer do. They fell off. You get bored. You bounce. This is how I’m feeling towards a few rather decent MCs right now. I QUIT THEM!!! lol
