The Government Can Search Your Laptop Under Obama’s New Copyright Plan

It looks like America has now become a culture of extreme surveillance. If this agreement goes through, people’s laptops can be searched for illegally downloaded mp3s or movies the next time they pass through airport security.

The Obama Administration is currently negotiating the ACTA Agreement with several international partners.The proposed agreement would empower security officials at airports and other international borders to conduct random… searches of laptops, MP3 players, and cellular phones for illegally downloaded or “ripped” music and movies.

Too much policies for unnecessary things and not enough focus on the economy’s well being, the environmental issues and depletion of scarce resources.

That is simply outrageous!!! I wonder how long the lineups will be and the kind of fines attached to it. I think it’s a huge invasion of privacy and they need to find other means to make money.

Well said Delphinos…The government really needs to find other means of making revenue. I don’t think this will go through as there would be a lot people against it. I mean invasion of our privacy? Come on now…do they think we will just sit there and just allow that?
