After watching that new ‘Transformers’ teaser, I realized how many potential blockbusters are coming out this year. If you look at any release schedule, you will see movies after movies that have the potential for greatness. We have compiled a list of top movies coming out so that you know what movies you should be waiting for.

10.) Next Day Air

Next Day Air ranks at number 10 because I just don’t know how good it will be. The trailer looks really nice and it reminds me of a Guy Ritchie film but it is still a big what if. The element that really has me doubting is the director because his resume is music videos (Benny Boom). Then again, Hype Williams did Belly, and it was impressive…so we will have to see

9.) G I – Joe

I remember when I first saw the posters, I told myself this going to be a horrible action movie, but then when the trailer released I had to do a double take. Now, I’m not saying that its going to be a great film, but the trailer and the atmosphere of the movie really surprised me. It could still turn out horrible, but now I am interested to see what it’s about.

8.) Terminator Salvation

Christian Bale was pretty upset on this movie set, maybe because it is going to be such a great movie and he didn’t want any interruptions..hopefully. Frankly though, I was finished with Terminator after part 3, but I guess my curiosity to know what happens in the future is getting the best of me. Oddly enough, the trailers make the movie look uninteresting to me, more or less its just me wanting to know what happens.

7.) Madea Goes To Jail

I know Tyler has been getting a lot of slack for his recent movies and how they work on the same formula, but it looks like he is going back to his beginnings. I am very happy and excited that we get a whole film based on Madea, most of the time I was only watching his films for her anyways.

6.) Angels & Demons

I love a good conspiracy, anything about Illumanti or freemasons really gets me going, so its no surprise that this movie is high on my list. I doubt that its going to reveal anything as shocking as Da Vinci Code, but the whole Idea of the Chatholic Church going toe to toe with the Illumanti is pretty intriguing.

5.) Star Trek

With this movie, its either people love the idea or hate it. It’s understandable because some people, trekkies, are so consumed by the Star Trek lifestyle that they don’t want any altercations. But on the otherside of it, people want to see a new light to great franchise. I think the movie looks great and a reboot to the franchise is long overdue.

4.) Inglorious Bastards

Tarantino, Pitt, and a World War 2 Scenerio, you can’t really go wrong with that combination. I am pretty big fan of Taratino, and an even bigger fan of War movies so the anticipation is natural. The interesting thing about this movie is the plot, we have never heard of this story before, and its not your typical good guys win the war, its more deep then that.

3.) The Taking of Pelham 123

This movie might not be getting as much as hype as the other movies on this list, but it might be the top one. Taking of Pelham 123, is your typical negotiator movie, but Tony Scott is not your typical director. I am excited to see how he will twist up this plot as he does with his other films.

2.) Watchmen

Watchmen was going to be on the list regardless, but since the screening and the reviews from the many people who have watched it, the excitement for this film has completely turned up. 300 had to be one of the best action films of all time, mostly because of the stylized fighting and to hear that the same style of action will be in Watchmen, adds another incentive to watch the movie.

1.) Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen

You like the first robots, well now imagine 40. Thats a pretty big feat for Mr. Bay, but I am not worried at all because I have never had a problem with his movies (yup, I even liked the Island). Bay is going to pack this movie with over the top action, and stylized scenes and I can’t wait at all.

*Close But No Cigar….Astro Boy*

I was a big fan of this series, and I like the look of the movie, but as far as animation, I don’t know if there will ever be a contender to Wall-E, but were going to have to wait and see.
