Top 6 Upcoming Rappers You Should Not Sleep On Part 4

Finally it is here. our fourth installment of our top 6 upcoming rappers you should NOT sleep on. Now some of you may say that some of these guys are far form upcoming. If that is the case it is because I have applied to “should not sleep on” so no worries. It took me a while to put this list together but I think you guys will like it. This will be an ongoing feature on this website so if your artist didnt make this list feel free to leave your comments and concerns in the the box. The list is in no particular order.
TiRon

Meet Tiron, this dude has got major praise in the blogosphere but still many people have not even heard of him. His first mixtape Ketchup was very well received and he is schedualed to drop the follow up titled MSTRD, he was also featured in our Good Music segment. The special thing about Tiron is that he not only knows how to rap but is able to put a whole song together very well. This is young Hip Hop at its best.
Phil Ade

Here we have Phil Ade and he is also virtually unknown. Just like Tiron he is dropping his second mixtape titled The Letterman on July 6th. His first mixtape named Starting On JV was full of different sounds, from old school beats which is reminiscent of Hip Hop in the 90′s to techno pop. The first single off of The Letterman happens to be a remix to a track originally found on Starting on JV. On the remix Phil is accompanied by Raekown, Wale, Tabi Bonney and Raheem DeVaugh.
Sene

Next up is a guy named Sene from NYC and he can really spit. He dropped a mixtape a while back titled Reality Bites. With the Plethora of rappers in New York it can be very hard to stand out. Sene took the smart route and rapped about things he knew not wanting to fit into the mold of the mainstream “rapper”. Sene gets a thumbs up from me.
Ab- Soul

Ab – Soul is part of the TDE movement out in LA. Much like Kendrick he doesn’t rap about the gang aspect of LA but rather takes a different angle. He has a very unique flow and is never short on witty lyrics. Ab – Soul is dropping his mixtape titled LongTerm 2 on June the 28th. LA is making a come back.
Ab Soul - Long Term 2Nickelus F

This guys right here is not up and coming at all. Those who know about Nickelus F know that he can very well be considered one of the best underground lyricists around. Yet people still tend to sleep on him which is why I put him on this list. There were rumors that he had been ghostwriting for Drake and that they even had a mixtape that never dropped. Nickelus F is a beast though and his time will come
Shad

Last but definately not least we have Shad represent Toronto’s underground rap scene. Just like Nickelus F he is far from up coming. Shad started his rap career in 2005. For some reason he doesn’t get the attention he deserves as an aritst in Toronto but has recently been seeing some attention from the amercan blogs. He is a hidden gem with thoughtful lyrics and a lot to offer. Shad is Good music.
