Top 6 Upcoming Rappers You Should Not Sleep On
I use to be way too lazy to go through garbage in hopes of finding good music, if you’re anything like how use to be, this post is definitely for you. I have compiled a list of a few individuals you should be adding to your Iphone, Zune, Car Deck, etc. I have carefully handpicked these artists to satisfy your listening needs so you don’t have to rummage through all the waste out there. 6.) Fashawn
I still enjoy some thug heavy tracks once in while, but I believe that even if you’re talking about guns or what ever, their still needs to be some level of effort or talent. I am not saying that Fashawn is a thug rapper but the content is more in that area.

I got a great rapper right in my own backyard, Toronto that is. Famous has been making a lot of headlines in the city and all over the blogosphere, he has quite the talent for lyrics and his tracks always spark my interest

4.) Blu
Blu is a type of rapper you hear drop a verse in a group song and you automatically want to know his name. Even though he tends to be in a lot of collabs (Johnson & Jonson being the latest one) I think he sticks out like a soar thumb, but in a good way.

3.) Asher Roth
Asher is unique, apart from the fact that he looks like a white frat boy. Asher is like a mix between Eminem (I know you saw that one coming) and Lupe Fiasco with a dash of something completely new.

He was once known as the Madlib protégé, but now the producer/rapper has been carving his own identity in this rap shit. His beats slightly resemble Madlib but there is also a unique factor to it. Even though he raps his beats are his real success factors.

He is definitely one of my favourite new artists. If you are not a fan yet, you must have heard is name fly around. His talent in lyrics is something I haven’t heard in a long time and it is ever so refreshing.

Jay Electronica, Black Milk and Blu got too many releases to be up and coming in my opinion but all 3 are dope…Black Milk and Blu especially…i was telling mofo’s to watch for Blu from time, thats the homie, and even Black when his first EP dropped.watch out for him on the next Tanya Morgan album..and watch out for me doing some design work for Blu and Fashawn..yerp.
Asher Roth is dope, was never impressed by the mixtape actually i like to hear more original joints to give a real opinion, u cant rate an emcee based on dubs alone…
Famous is dope, i have yet to take in his EP cause i want my copy (get at me Rez! lol)
Fashawn is the new version of Planet Asia, any real head who followed Asia in the late 90’s till now knows what i mean..they are actually friends too..both from Fresno..dope shit
Drake should be on the list, i agree.. he is out there but more so over here…he’s our best all around artist
